Ashleigh's Education Journey

Hi everyone!  I'm Ashleigh from Ashleigh's Education Journey!

I'm so excited to be a part of this awesome group of second and third grade bloggers!  It's pretty much like having all of my favorites grouped together in one place.  You just can't beat that!

I'd like to take just a few minutes to introduce myself to those of you who don't "know" me.  I'm a wife and mom of two beautiful children.  My daughter is four and is starting PreK this year {sniff, sniff} and my son is 9-months old and literally into everything.  They keep me busy, and I'm still trying to learn how to balance being wife, mom, teacher, blogger, and TpTer.  Let's just say it's a good thing I don't require much sleep!

I graduated from Florida State University with my B.S. in Elementary Education.  I've later gone back to school for my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and my Ed.S. in Brain Research.  This will be my 11th year teaching, and I've taught 3rd and 4th grades during those 11 years.  I absolutely love teaching and cannot imagine doing anything else!  I also love making educational materials to use in my classroom.  It's so much for me to watch a new unit come together, and it helps keep me excited about my own teaching practices.

In all of my free time {ha, ha} I love to read anything I can put my hands on.  I also enjoy anything and everything to do with water. You can put me on a beach, lake, boat, you name it, and I'm happy!  I also consider myself to be quite an expert shopper.  I try to practice regularly to perfect my craft:)

I'm happy to share with you a product that I've been working on for my own Open House that is coming much too soon.  I've always felt more than a little awkward at Open House, because I desperately want to make a good first impression with my students and their parents, but it's so hard to meet with everyone during that short window of time.  I've created this little activity to keep everyone active and engaged, as well as to relay important information.  This will also help me to spend more quality time with my students and their families.  I think it's something I'll really enjoy, and I hope you do too!  Just click on the picture for your copy.
